Description

These Cottage Cheese Chips are a high-protein, low-carb snack that’s crispy, cheesy, and completely addictive! With just one ingredient and your choice of seasoning, these homemade chips bake to perfection in the oven, creating a healthy alternative to traditional chips. Perfect for dipping or enjoying on their own, they’re great for keto, gluten-free, and high-protein diets.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese (Good Culture or Daisy recommended)
  • Seasoning of your choice (e.g., everything bagel seasoning, Cavender’s Greek seasoning)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat and Prepare
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  4. Lightly spray the parchment paper with oil to ensure crispiness.
  5. 2. Drain the Cottage Cheese
  6. Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, drain excess liquid from the cottage cheese. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy texture.
  7. 3. Shape the Chips
  8. Using a spoon or small ice cream scoop, drop small mounds of the seasoned cottage cheese onto the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Flatten each mound with the back of a spoon to form thin, round chips. Space them apart to allow even baking.
  10. 4. Bake Until Crispy
  11. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chips turn golden brown and crispy.
  12. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  13. 5. Cool and Serve
  14. Let the chips cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes to crisp up further.
  15. Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy as a snack or with your favorite dip!

Notes

  • Ensure proper draining: Removing excess moisture from the cottage cheese is key to achieving crispiness.
  • Experiment with seasonings: Try garlic powder, smoked paprika, ranch seasoning, or chili flakes for a flavor boost!
  • For an extra crunch, broil for the last 2 minutes of baking.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 day or in the fridge for up to 3 days. Re-crisp in the oven if needed.
