Description

These Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are bold, spicy, and irresistibly crispy! Bite-sized salmon pieces are seasoned to perfection, seared to a golden crisp, and coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. It’s an easy, flavorful dish that’s perfect for appetizers, tacos, or rice bowls.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon Bites

  • 1 1/2 lbs salmon fillets (skin removed, cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

For the Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust for heat preference)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

For Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Prep the Salmon
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy texture.
  3. Cut the salmon into 1-inch bite-sized cubes.
  4. Place the salmon pieces in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Toss gently to coat the salmon evenly with the seasoning.
  6. 2. Make the Bang Bang Sauce
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth and creamy.
  8. Taste and adjust—add more sriracha for heat or honey for sweetness. Set aside.
  9. 3. Cook the Salmon
  10. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  11. Once the oil is hot, add the salmon pieces in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
  12. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side, gently turning to brown all sides, until the salmon is golden and crispy on the outside and flaky inside.
  13. Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  14. 4. Coat in Bang Bang Sauce
  15. Drizzle: Place the salmon bites on a serving platter and drizzle the sauce over them.
  16. Toss: Add the salmon bites to a bowl, pour the sauce over, and gently toss to coat.
  17. 5. Garnish & Serve
  18. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, green onions, or sesame seeds for extra flavor and color.
  19. Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.

Notes

  • Oven-Baked Option: Instead of pan-frying, bake the salmon bites at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Air Fryer Method: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Make it a Meal: Serve these salmon bites in tacos, rice bowls, or lettuce wraps.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in an air fryer or skillet for best crispiness.
