Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 500 g (1 lb) shrimp/prawns, shelled and deveined
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 cup cream
  • 12 tsp lemon juice
  • Parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
    1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and place them in a bowl.
    2. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
    1. Heat a large pan over high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
    2. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn opaque and start to brown, about 2–3 minutes.
    3. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    1. In the same pan, melt an additional teaspoon of butter. Add the crushed garlic and Cajun seasoning, stirring until fragrant (about 1 minute).
    2. Pour in the cream and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
    3. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced and thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    1. Return the shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Allow to heat through for 1–2 minutes.
    2. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve this dish over pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
  • Adjust the Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • Use heavy cream or double cream for the best texture and flavor.
