Description

Football Dip is the ultimate game-day snack, featuring layers of creamy cream cheese, zesty salsa, seasoned ground beef, and gooey cheddar cheese. Perfect with tortilla chips, it’s a surefire crowd-pleaser for any party or tailgate!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning (or 1 packet)
  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup salsa of choice
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Cook Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring to combine.
  3. Layer the Dip:
    1. Spread softened cream cheese evenly on the bottom of a pie dish or baking dish.
    2. Pour salsa over the cream cheese.
    3. Evenly spread the cooked ground beef over the salsa.
    4. Top with grated cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the layers are heated through and the cheese is bubbly.
  5. Optional Broil: Remove the foil and broil for 2 minutes to brown the cheese slightly, if desired.
  6. Serve: Serve hot with tortilla chips and enjoy!

Notes

  • Customizable Heat: Use mild, medium, or hot salsa and adjust taco seasoning to match your spice preference.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble the dip up to a day in advance. Cover and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Cheese Options: Swap cheddar for Monterey Jack or a Mexican cheese blend for a different flavor profile.
